Tortola, British Virgin Islands

In tortola, we went to Brewer's Bay, a great beach. Perhaps my favorite.
This is Captain Malcolm. He was our ride to and from the beach.
He was funny, informative, prompt and polite.

Find Your Own Beach

the seas were up so we mostly body surfed. a new experience for Michael.

Charlotte Amalie, Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands

In Charlotte Amalie, we spent a lazy day at the emerald beach resort, just chilling. we needed a restful beach day and that's exactly what we got.

We enjoyed Saint Thomas. It's very American. Like wildwood, but tropical. I don't know if i would go to Saint Thomas only.

Old San Juan, Puerto Rico

Old San Juan, Puerto Rico is my favorite city on earth. On our southern Caribbean cruise, this January, we only were in port for a few hours of the evening of 1/20/16. Mike hadn't been there before, so I had a short time to share the highlights with him. We disembarked and walked through the city, passing

The Tourist information center
(isn't the (i) adorable?

And the San Juan Police Station.
(Which Mike is a fan of since they run Harley's.)
The blue black ballast cobbled streets are a joy.
...on the way to our first stop at Castillo San Cristobol.

A window with it's wooden shutters thrown open to allow air and sun into the fort.

Overlooking Calle Norzagaray from San Cristobol.

We sat ourselves in a bench right at the main keep.
..and made a little friend.
We toured the fort and then set off to walk across town to the other, more personally memory soaked (for me) fort,  along Calle Norzagaray.

The old Aquaduct covers are even charming.

Mom's Cannon. (my mother would sit here and smoke {gasp} back when she'd bring me here)

my personal favorite garita. Perhaps because i remember it from trips with my mother.

After we toured the for and it's grounds we headed out into the old city. working our way toward dinner.

Park Square

Agua is charming

The quaint Caribbean classic that is Old San Juan speaks directly to my soul
with it's happy colors, Spanish architecture, and even it's crowded-ness.

Love the Balcony

The narrow cobblestone streets aren't made for automobiles, yet they park.
Tenaciously.

Ah, Dinner time.

The Norwegian Breakaway has every light burning when we return.
